A war legacy still shaping lives today
Today, still thousands of Vietnamese families continue to live with the devastating consequences of Agent Orange, one of the most devastating chemical consequences of modern warfare. In rural and underdeveloped areas, victims struggle daily with:
- Severe and lifelong disabilities
- Chronic illnesses
- Lack of access to healthcare
- Social exclusion
- Vicious cycle leading to poverty
Entire families are often affected across multiple generations. Without stable income, access to education, or employment opportunities, many remain trapped in a cycle of hardship and isolation.

60-70% Rural areas

Our Solution: Creating Opportunities Through Meaningful Work
An Vui Mart – Bridge of Kindness is a livelihood and empowerment initiative launched by the Aquitara Philanthropic Fund, in close collaboration with the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA).
The program donates micro-neighbourhood shops operated by Agent Orange–affected families. These small stores provide:
- A stable source of income and a way out of poverty
- A place of dignity and autonomy
- A recognized role in the community
Each shop becomes much more than a business:
It becomes a bridge between vulnerable families and the communities from which they were once excluded.
